Scotland ready to gain revenge over Ukraine

Scotland and Ukraine will go head-to-head for top spot in UEFA Nations League Group E when they face off at Hampden Park on Wednesday night.
As it stands, Ukraine occupy first place after three games – with second-place Scotland sitting one point behind.
Third-place Ireland and last-place Armenia have already played four games each, meaning the winner of Wednesday’s clash will take control of Group E.
Scotland have registered two wins and one loss in the Nations League, scoring six goals while conceding four.
After beating Armenia 2-0, the Scots suffered a 3-0 defeat to Ireland. However, they bounced back with a 4-1 thrashing of Armenia in June.
Scotland are enjoying a solid run at the moment. Including friendlies, they have lost just two of their past 12 games – picking up eight wins and two draws in the process.

The Ukrainians secured clean-sheet victories over Ireland (1-0) and Armenia (3-0) before drawing 1-1 with the Irish back in June.
When you look at the bigger picture, Ukraine have lost just one of their 15 outings across all competitions since last summer’s European Championship.
Head-to-head: In June, Ukraine claimed a 3-1 victory over Scotland at Hampden Park in the World Cup play-offs.
The two nations have faced each other three times over the years, with Ukraine winning twice and Scotland winning once.
Team news: Scotland captain Andy Robertson is missing through injury. Elsewhere, Ryan Fraser has earned a recall from Steve Clarke.
Ukraine will be without injured Arsenal star Oleksandr Zinchenko. As a result, Andriy Yarmolenko will captain the team – having scored 45 goals in 109 international appearances.
Although Ukraine beat Scotland in the World Cup play-offs back in June, Clarke’s men are expected to gain their revenge this time around.
