Marseille Set to Dominate a Helpless Frankfurt in the Champions League

Gameweek two is already upon us in the new season of Champions League football with Marseille and Eintracht Frankfurt looking to get their first points and goals on the board in the new European season with the Europa League winners travelling to France.
Frankfurt have barely been able to approve of their woeful domestic form of last season, and in truth, if it wasn’t for success in the Europa League, the Bundesliga side would have nothing to shout about in the past two seasons so far.As of now, they sit 11th in the table and with only two wins on the board.
In fact, after six Bundesliga outings for Frankfurt, the kings of the Europa League have registered two wins, two draws and two defeats, with 11 goals being scored for them and 12 going in the opposite way.
Worse yet, over the weekend Frankfurt once again tasted another as Wolfsburg came to town and won 3-0.
This did, however, come off the back of two games where they managed to win a game by scoring four times, with Werder Bremen tasting defeat in a 4-3 loss, before Frankfurt destroyed RB Leipzig in a 4-0 demolition at home two weeks ago.
The German side did, however, get destroyed in the Champions League on their own patch in what was their first Champions League outing in many years. Sporting Lisbon travelled to the Deutsche Bank Park and battered Oliver Glasner's men 3-0.
This does now leave Frankfurt bottom of the table by one more goal let in over Marseille.
As for the French side, they finished second in last season's Ligue 1 campaign and they have carried this momentum into the new season.
Right now they are unbeaten in the French top flight and trail champions Paris Saint-Germain at the top by goals difference.
Marseille were beaten by Tottenham Hotspur in the opening game of the season in the Champions League, however, with the club travelling to north London and tasting a 2-0 defeat after a Richarlison brace.
What’s more, they only had two shots on target that day and barely threatened the Spurs defence throughout the game.
The club did beat Lille in Ligue 1 over the weekend to return to the win column and also carry on their excellent start to life in 2022/23, with Alexis Sanchez getting another goal as Samuel Gigot scored too. Forebet predicts a win here for Marseille and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
