Atletico Madrid Likely to Edge Past the Dreadful Form of Leverkusen

Atletico Madrid will head on the road to the BayArena this Tuesday night when they meet with the struggling Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League as Diego Simeone’s men look to improve on some excellent form right now.

Bayer Leverkusen are in tatters right now after a fantastic campaign last season saw them make it back into the Champions League for another year.

It has been a whirlwind few years at the BayArena, with the club losing some huge names, having to experience managerial changes too, while seeing their club almost get into a title charge at times last season.

Right now, however, Leverkusen are down in 17th in the Bundesliga and the only thing separating them from sitting bottom of the table is how VfL Bochum have so far lost every game in the Bundesliga and conceded 18 goals and scored only four of their own.

Leverkusen have one win on their record so far and another draw too, sitting them with four points and 11 goals conceded.

The club drew with Hertha Berlin last time out in a 2-2 draw in Berlin, but the travelling side had just three shots on target in that game and saw 38% of the ball.

Both are unlikely feats for the German outfit, but Leverkusen do still have the 3-0 win over Mainz three weeks back to boast about. Jermie Frimpong managed to score twice that day away from home, with two red cards for Leverkusen also affecting the squad greatly.

As for Atletico, it’s been another decent start to life in La Liga and although there is already a gap created on the top two giants of Spanish football, they still sit right in there with a chance of getting something out of this season.

The club thrashed Celta Vigo last time out in a 4-1 win over in La Liga, which came not too long after a 3-1 victory in the Champions League against Porto. Antoine Griezmann scored the winner, in what was another memorable game on home soil in the Champions League for them.

Forebet predicts a win for Atletico here. Their form looks too strong, just as they seem to be keeping up their excellent defensive qualities shown in recent years.

What’s more, the likes of Antoine Griezmann are continuing to prove their worth this season already, and it all looks like it’ll be too much for Leverkusen to handle.
