Low-scoring affair on the cards between Eibar and Granada

Monday night brings us action from the Spanish second tier and a La Liga 2 clash between Eibar and Granada at the Estadio Municipal de Ipurúa with the hosts looking to bounce back from their recent defeat away at Leganes, while Granada are eyeing off top spot with a win here.
Eibar had made a solid and encouraging start to this new La Liga 2 campaign.
The hosts had picked up two wins with victories gained over Tenerife and Ponferradina in 2-1 and 1-0 wins respectively while in between times, Eibar had also picked up a point in a 2-2 draw away at Villarreal B.
Overall results for Eibar in the domestic second flight have been reasonable enough as the hosts have lost just four of their last 13 matches.
They have been tough to beat in their own backyard as well, losing just twice in their previous 23 games at their Estadio Municipal de Ipurúa.
13 of these 23 home games have resulted in under 2.5 goals though, and having also kept nine clean sheets within this period, goals could be at a premium again on Monday night.
Onto Granada, and the visitors currently sit in 2nd place in the early La Liga 2 standings having won three of their opening four games of this new campaign, picking up wins against Ibiza, Racing Santander and Villarreal B, but they did slip to their first defeat of this new term last time out.
A narrow 1-0 loss away from home at newcomers, FC Andorra, was a surprising result but nevertheless, Granada will now re-focus for this Monday’s trip to Eibar with a possible place at the top of the division still within grasp after the weekend’s action, depending if other results go their way.
The bigger picture shows Granada have lost just once in their last 12 matches overall, eight of which have resulted in under 2.5 goals being scored.
While goals have also been in fairly short supply with seven of Granada’s last 10 outings on the road also seeing two goals or less scored.
To sum up, this upcoming encounter between Eibar and Granada looks like being a tight one and goals could be few and far between here on Monday night.
