Real to Kick off Their European Defence With a Win Against the Record-Breaking Celtic
7867

The champions of Europe will kick off their Champions League campaign on Tuesday night with a trip to Glasgow as the La Liga kings, Real Madrid, meet with the champions of Scotland, Celtic, in gameweek one in Europe.

Real are heading into this game exactly the same as the season prior where they managed to do the league and European double once again to make it 14 times they have triumphed in Europe's biggest competition.

In fact, bar the sale of Casemiro, the squad have only got better and they are so far boasting a perfect record in La Liga with four wins in a row from four games.

The club are narrowly ahead of Barcelona and are already huge early favourites for another league conquest.

What's more, Real have already got off to a flying start in Europe too, as they defeated Eintracht Frankfurt back in early August in the UEFA Super Cup as Karim Benzema continued to prove his worth as a potential Ballon d'Or winner, while David Alaba scored yet again.

Back in La Liga, Carlo Ancelotti's men have won all four games but failed to keep a clean sheet so far against Almeria, Celta Vigo, Espanyol and Real Betis.

More impressively, however, is how three of their league games have come away from home, with them edging past Betis over the weekend in Madrid thanks to a goal from Vinicus Junior and Rodrygo.

While Real are coming into this with a perfect league record so far, so are Celtic. They have stunningly scored 25 goals from six games, won the lot, and managed to let in just one goal - no side in Scottish football history has ever started a season as well as they have.

What's even more impressive is how the Hoops are also coming off the back of hammering rivals Rangers 4-0 in the Old Firm with goals from Jota, David Turnbull and a double from Liel Abada. The only goal they have let in so far was against Ross County in the second game of the league season.

It’s likely going to be a comfortable game for Real. They’ve looked equally as impressive as last year so far in all competitions, and despite the form of Celtic off the back of such a demolition in the Old Firm, the European champions should win here.

Forebet predicts a victory for Real and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
