Bologna's Winless Run Expected to Continue at the Hands of Salernitana

Salernitana will head on the road to the Renato Dall'Ara Stadium this Thursday evening where a winless Bologna awaits them after the away side recorded one of their most impressive Serie A goals in history last time out.

It's just the second season back in Serie A for Salernitana after narrowly avoiding relegation last time out with a stunning one-point gap on the bottom three that was created in the final three games of the season.

Now, after smashing Sampdoria 4-0, the club have found more confidence than ever in the top flight of Italian football.

In what was the club's first win of the season, Boulaye Dia scored after seven minutes, before another goal from Federico Bonazzoli nine minutes later sealed a 2-0 lead before half time.

Erik Botheim and Tonny Vilhena scored a goal each in the second half, as Salernitana managed to score from four of their six efforts on goal.

There was a bit of defensive fragility in the game, however, as Sampdoria had a total of 21 shots, as seven of those hit the target. However, a fantastic game between the posts from Luigi Sepe and excellence from the midfielders forced a 4-0 victory and the first win of the season for Salernitana.

Previous to this excellent three points, the club narrowly lost to Roma and drew 0-0 with Udinese too. It keeps Salernitana in 11th after three games and with a promising three-point gap on the relegation zone already.

As for Bologna, they remain winless and are five places below their opposition ahead of this one. At home, however, they will be confident in the likes of Marko Arnautovic helping to get the win.

Bologna first met with Lazio on the opening weekend and lost 2-1, with Arnautovic scoring from the penalty spot. A 1-1 draw with Hellas Verona saw a second red card in a row for the club, which now means Adama Soumaoro and Riccardo Orsolini have both picked up suspensions already this season.

Bologna met with champions AC Milan over the weekend, where a goal in either half for the Serie A holders saw them win 2-0, as the winless run for Siniša Mihajlović has now extended to three games since beating Cosenza in the Coppa Italia 1-0.

It’s going to be a close game after Salernitana’s stunning 4-0 win. Forebet predicts a draw here and for the game to see under 2.5 goals.
