Real Betis host Osasuna on La Liga matchday No. 3 with both sides sitting in the top four. Los Verdiblancos are third in the Primera with six points from six on offer.

Osasuna are fourth having also picked up six points from six points on offer this season. Both sides are in excellent form at both ends of the pitch.

Manuel Pellegrini’s team defeated Elche 3-0 on opening day and followed it up with a 2-1 away win at Mallorca. Neither of Real Betis’s opening matches were against La Liga’s strongest teams. In fact, both Elche and Mallorca have collected a total of one combined point.

Osasuna, on the other hand, shocked Sevilla to start the season 2-1. Los Rojillos then won 2-0 versus Cadiz. Osasuna played their two opening matches at El Sadar, which surely helped them claim two impressive wins.

Real Betis have a strong head-to-head record against Osasuna. Los Verdiblancos have a record of 5W-0D-1L in all competitions against Osasuna in the teams’ last six head-to-head meetings.

One of the surprise aspects of La Liga this season has been the strength of away teams. Away teams have won 45% of matches in La Liga compared to just 30% of home teams winning games. There is a strong possibility of an away win in this game, which would be an upset.

Pellegrini has four players on the injury list heading into the match. Defender Youssouf Sabaly is a doubt with a muscle injury. Defender Martin Montoya is ruled out until mid-September with an ankle injury.

Midfielders Victor Camarasa has discomfort and is a doubt while Sergio Canales is also a doubt following physical discomfort.

Real Betis are led in goals by Borja Iglesias with three this season. Los Verdiblancos have scored five goals in La Liga with Iglesias bagging three of them.

Goals have not been shared by the team, which is a worry. Juami has added the other two goals for Betis.

Osasuna coach Jagoba Arrasate will be without forward Kike Saverio. The forward has a tendon injury that will keep him out of action. Ezequiel Avila has bagged two of Osasuna’s four goals this season.

Despite Real Betis’s great head-to-head record against Osasuna, Los Rojillos should claim an away win. Away teams are playing well in La Liga and Osasuna should find a way to win a third straight game of the season.

A victory over Real Betis away will show Osasuna’s win against Sevilla on opening day wasn’t a fluke. This could finish 2-1 to Los Rojillos. There have been 10% of La Liga matches finish as 2-1 away wins this season.
