Chelsea expected to heap more misery on struggling Leicester

Chelsea will be looking to bounce back from a humiliating 3-0 away defeat to Leeds United when they host Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Thomas Tuchel’s side are in the bottom half of the Premier League table after taking four points from a possible nine so far this season.

As for Leicester, they find themselves in the bottom three – three points behind Leicester – having failed to win any of their three matches this term.

Chelsea kicked off their campaign with a 1-0 victory over Everton before drawing 2-2 with Tottenham Hotspur. However, the Blues were embarrassed by Leeds last time out.

After conceding two goals before half-time, Chelsea conceded again midway through the second half before Kalidou Koulibaly was sent off late on.

It is worth noting that Chelsea racked up 61% possession and 14 shots at Elland Road. Still, they failed to deal with a hardworking Leeds outfit.

The Londoners have already conceded five goals this season. As it stands, only five sides have a poorer defensive record in the Premier League.

On the flip side, Leicester three away a two-goal lead on the opening weekend – drawing 2-2 with Brentford in the capital.

The Foxes head into Matchday 4 on the back of successive defeats, having fallen to Arsenal (4-2) and Southampton (1-2).

Although Brendan Rodgers’ boys have scored five goals across their opening three games, they have also conceded eight. Needless to say, that is not good enough.

On Tuesday, Leicester were held to a goalless draw by fourth-tier Stockport County in the EFL Cup. However, they eventually triumphed on penalties.

Head-to-head: Leicester have only managed to win three of their previous 17 meetings with Chelsea across all competitions.

Chelsea avoided defeat against the Foxes last season, claiming an impressive 3-0 win at the King power Stadium before drawing 1-1 at Stamford Bridge.

Team news: N’Golo Knate, Mateo Kovacic and Marcos Alonso are all injured for Chelsea. Koulibaly will miss Saturday’s clash through suspension.

Leicester will be without the injured duo of Ricardo Pereira and Ryan Bertrand this weekend. There are also question marks of the availability of Chelsea target Wesley Fofana.

Regardless of last weekend’s 3-0 defeat to Leeds, Chelsea shouldn’t find it difficult to get the better of struggling Leicester.

Forebet predicts that Chelsea and Leicester will combine for over 2.5 goals on Saturday. However, the hosts are expected to outscore the visitors.
