Norwich and Millwall to both score in Friday night clash
3410

The upcoming Friday night fixture in the Championship features this clash between Norwich City and Millwall at Carrow Road with the hosts looking to settle down after a mixed start to this new English second tier season.

It took up until Tuesday night this week for Norwich City to finally open their account in the win column as Dean Smith’s side had made a slow and disappointing start to the new campaign beforehand, having lost two of their opening three games.

Early defeats to Cardiff City and Hull City, both of which were away from home, were either side of a somewhat disappointing 1-1 draw at home with newly promoted Wigan Athletic, but The Canaries will be hoping that their midweek 2-1 win against Huddersfield Town provides the hosts with a platform from which to launch.

Norwich have found league wins at home hard to come by, granted they were in the Premier League last season but three wins from 19 home games suggests this may be a tough fixture against the London club.

Norwich will be missing defender, Byram, who is ruled out through injury along with midfield pair Hayden and Sorensen, while forwards Idah and Rowe will also be sidelined. Striker Teemu Pukki may be a doubt also.

Onto Millwall, and the London visitors have lost just once in their opening four matches of this new Championship season, this coming in the form of a 2-0 defeat away from home at Sheffield United but two wins and a draw have nevertheless helped lift Millwall up into an early 4th place.

Wins against Stoke City and Coventry City were valuable victories but were both achieved on home soil at The Den while The Lions also picked up a point in a 2-2 midweek draw at Swansea City on Tuesday night.

The bigger picture shows Millwall have lost just two of their last 10 matches overall in the English second tier and just three defeats have been handed to the London club in their previous 10 outings on the road as well.

In addition, only two of these 10 away games saw Millwall lose by 2 goals or more.

Mason Bennett and Tom Bradshaw will be ruled out of Carrow Road due to injuries, meaning that Benik Afobe will be left to lead the attack.

Both Norwich and Millwall look dangerous in the final third and both look set to score here.
