Malmo to move into top three with win at Norrkoping
2252

The PlatinumCars Arena is the venue for this upcoming clash in the Swedish top flight between Norrkoping and Malmo as both teams look to improve upon their fortunes in the Allsvenskan on Saturday afternoon.

It’s been a pretty inconsistent campaign for the hosts, Norrkoping, as they’ve drifted in and out of form so far this term, starting off this new season by losing three out of their opening four games and then enjoying a four-match winning streak.

Unfortunately for Norrkoping fans though, their side has since experienced another slump in form.

The hosts have failed to win any of their last five matches overall in the Allsvenskan, picking up points in draws with Elfsborg, Mjallby and Degerfors.

But these being offset by losses to Hammarby and Sirius.

Beforehand, Norrkoping had strung together a promising four match winning run which consisted of victories gained over Kalmar, Varnamo, Helsingborg and GIF Sundsvall.

But three of these four wins were achieved against teams struggling near the bottom of the division.

Malmo currently occupy 5th place in the Allsvenskan standings but the visitors will be hoping they can continue their recent winning streak in the Swedish top flight which has brought Milos Milojevic’s side three wins out of their last four games overall.

Recent wins against Degerfors, Helsingborg and Varberg have helped the visitors to within the fringes of the top three clubs in the division and indeed if Malmo take all three points at Norrkoping and Djurgarden slip up at home against Varnamo, then Malmo could be sitting level on points with the 2nd placed side.

Despite losing three games on the trot in recent times, losing to the likes of AIK, Djurgarden and Hacken, the bigger picture shows that Malmo have suffered just a total of four defeats within their last 22 matches overall in the domestic top flight, so they should be taken very seriously here indeed.

In addition, Malmo have lost just three of their last 13 away games as well and this sort of form should see the visitors over the line at Norrkoping as they pursue a top three spot by the end of the weekend.

Malmo have lost just one of the previous six meetings against Norrkoping and the visitors look the more likely to claim all three points here this Saturday as well.
