A High-Scoring Draw Expected Between Elfsborg and AIK in Sweden
2423

It's a massive game in the Allsvenskan this weekend as IF Elfsorg welcome AIK to the Boras Arena on Sunday with the eighth-placed side aiming to get back into the top half with AIK still well within the early title race.

Elfsborg are currently sitting eighth in the table and have now broken into the top half of the division after a relatively positive run as of late.

What's more, with Malmo in fifth only two points clear of them in the table, there's a great chance the club can leap into the top five here and get right into the title talk.

Jimmy Thelin's side have been one of the most in-form sides of the past month in Sweden, and have subsequently closed the gap on most of those above them in the table.

Ever since they last lost to Sirius back in May, the club went on to smash Goteborg 3-1, Helsingborg 1-0, and Varbergs BoIS 4-1, with two draws coming within this time too against Norrkoping and Hacken.

It has now put Elfsborg on five wins and four draws in the Allsvenskan, with the club also having just three losses on their record so far - only the league leaders Hacken have lost fewer.

What's more, their excellent goalscoring form sees them with 24 goals scored where, once again, only Hacken have netted more.

Elfsborg also have conceded 13 times to this stage in the league, and although far from the best defensive record in the league, it still reads for a very positive goals difference record and this combined with their recent form shows how much Thelin's men are on the rise.

As for AIK, their grip on the top three and efforts in the title race have loosened recently, with them losing on home soil to Mjallby, after drawing with Degerfors and losing to Molde.

It does now put the club on just one win within their past five games, with two high-scoring draws coming against Hammarby and Sirius as well, with a 2-1 away win to Helsingborg being their only good result since early May.

They do still sti within a point of the league leaders, however, but with 13 games played, should they lose here, they could come crashing down into as low as fifth in the table, with Elfsborg potentially moving into fourth.

These two can barely be separated right now, and Forebet predicts a draw here and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
