Nacional to Edge Past Junior to Remain Unbeaten in Group A Over in Colombia
2591

The Colombian top flight action continues this Wednesday as Atlético Nacional meet with Atlético Junior in the Categoria Primera A group as first meets second in Group A with the winner here set to move to the top of the table.

Not much has separated these two sides to this point in the season, with Nacional finishing four points above the fifth-placed Junior in the Apertura phase of the competition.

At the same time, however, while the away side here boasted a better goals scored record throughout the Apertura, Nacional had the third-best defensive record with 15 goals conceded from only 20 games.

Now in Group A of the Apertura - Quadrangular, the two clubs are separated by just one point in the fight to finish top of the table.

Both sides have so far won two games each, with Junior losing one extra game compared to Nacional's so far unbeaten record in this phase of the season.

That one defeat did come to bottom-placed Group A side, Atletico Bucaramanga, where they lost 2-0 away from home. Juan Cruz Real's men have gone on to beat and draw with Millonarios and then beat Bucaramanga in the second clash with them in Group A.

Nacional recently drew in a fairly lacklustre 0-0 draw with Millionarios last time out, not long after registering back-to-back wins over Bucaramanga where they scored a combined five goals and let in just one.

The Medellín side, however, drew once more with Millonarios just prior to this, and it has kept up the trend of being unable to win more than a few games on the bounce throughout the season for Nacional.

It has also been just three weeks since both these two clubs met in the Categoria Primera A in what was a very tight game. Each side had a decent chunk of the ball, while also having three shots on target.

Miguel Borja scored for Junior that day, before an equaliser from Giovanni Moreno in the second half. It does also mean that Nacional are unbeaten in their past five games with just two defeats since mid-April.

Nacional’s form is simply too superior here, and it looks as if they will get yet another win under their belt and keep on marching towards their attempts at winning the title. Forebet predicts they will win here and for the game to see over 2.5 goals in Group A.
