Norway have had a strong start to the UEFA Nations League tournament securing seven points from nine points on offer.

Matchday 4 of the UEFA Nations League tournament will see Norway play Sweden in Oslo as they seek three more points in the competition.

Sweden have not had a great UEFA Nations League tournament. Just three points from nine have been collected by the Swedes. A 2-0 opening day win over Slovenia was followed by back-to-back losses to Norway (2-1) and Serbia (1-0).

Norway are top of Group 4 with seven points, which is one point better off than second-place Serbia. A win for Norway would put them into the driver’s seat with just two matchdays left in the competition.

Matchday 4 will be the final UEFA Nations League fixture for both sides before resuming the competition in September. It will be a moral victory for Norway to go into the tournament’s break leading the group.

Sunday’s game is the reverse fixture between these regional rivals in Group 4. Norway claimed a 2-1 win thanks to a brace from Manchester City’s Erling Haaland. The match wasn’t as close as the scoreline indicates as Haaland’s goals were scored in the 20th and 69th minutes.

Haaland’s opener was from the penalty spot. Sweden pulled a goal back in second half stoppage-time to make the match look closer on paper.

Sweden outshot Norway 13-12 with three shots hitting the target. Norway hit the target eight times against Sweden. Norway only kept 34% of the game’s possession as Sweden dominated the area. Chasing the game likely led to Sweden keeping more of the ball.

Stale Solbakken will likely start Haaland as the team’s central striker once more. He used a 4-3-3 formation against Sweden last time around. Mohamed Elyounoussi and Alexander Sorloth played on either side of Haaland in the win.

Martin Odergaard should again take up a position in central midfield. Sander Berge has been used as both a defensive midfielder and to play box-to-box. He could once again be used to sit in a deep position versus Sweden.

Sweden also played a 4-3-3 formation when these teams last met. Alexander Isak led the line with Dejan Kulusevski playing on the wing. Robin Olsen should get the start in goal and Emil Forsberg could once again play in midfield.

The last meeting between these teams finished 2-1 to Norway. The reverse fixture should see Sweden come out playing strongly as they are desperate for points. Sunday’s match could finish in a score draw with over 2.5 goals.
