Sporting KC and New England set for high-scoring draw in MLS
Sporting Kansas City vs New England Revolution - 12/06/2022

Due to the international break, there are only three Major League Soccer games this weekend. On Sunday, Sporting Kansas City host the New England Revolution at Children’s Mercy Park.
Funnily enough, both sides are struggling towards the bottom end of the respective conferences as we approach the midway point in the 2022 MLS season.
Sporting KC find themselves rock bottom of the Western Conference, while New England occupy eleventh place over in the East.
SKC have managed to win just three of their 15 MLS games this season, registering four draws and eight losses along the way.
To make matters worse for the Wizards, they have conceded 26 goals – meaning they have the second-worst defensive record in the West.
Sporting KC have only managed to win one of their previous ten Major League Soccer clashes, recording four draws and five defeats in the process.
Given that SKC finished third in the West before reaching the conference semifinals last season, they are enduring a woeful campaign right now.
In fairness, New England are also going through a tough time at the moment – having won just four of their 13 MLS games in 2022.
The Revs clinched the Supporters’ Shield in record-breaking style last season, but they have so far failed to replicate last season’s form this year.
Scoring goals has not been a problem for New England this season. In fact, only three sides in the East have netted more.
At the opposite end of the field, however, things are not going so well. The Revs have conceded 23 goals, meaning only three teams have a worse defensive record.
Head-to-head: Not only have SKC won just one of their last four meetings with New England, but they have also won two of the previous eight encounters between the teams.
Six of the past seven meetings with Sporting KC and New England have dished up over 3.5 goals, so a high-scoring clash is on the cards this time around.
Team news: Sporting Kansas City will be without the injured duo of Alan Pulido and Gadi Kinda on Sunday.
As for the Revs, they have no fresh injury concerns. With six goals and eight assists to his name, Spanish playmaker Carles Gil is New England’s danger man.
Considering the recent high-scoring nature of this matchup, we are destined to see plenty of goals on Sunday.
For that reason, Forebet predicts that Sporting KC and New England will play out a thrilling draw – with both teams scoring over 1.5 goals.
