On Tuesday night, Halifax and Chesterfield meet at the Shay Stadium to decide who will proceed to the semi-finals of the National League promotion play-offs.

The Yorkshire outfit finished fourth place in the regular season, ten points behind league winners Stockport County in the standings. An inconsistent end to their league campaign ended any chance of the Shaymen winning automatic promotion to the football league.

The visitors finished the regular season in poor form, as they failed to win any of their last four league games, having suffered three defeats and a loss. A 0-0 last-day home draw against Woking proved vital in setting up this tie and ended the visitors' three-game losing streak.
