Mallorca Expected to Get a Vital Win Against Vallecano in the Fight to Survive in La Liga

Mallorca will be aiming to leap out of the relegation zone when they welcome Rayo Vallecano to Son Moix as the home side need to claim all three points here and hope Cadiz avoid a victory in their visit of Real Madrid.

There's just two points in it down at the bottom between Cadiz who are safe in 17th for now, and Mallorca who are down in 18th and facing the drop.

Mallorca now have to better the result of Cadiz in the final two games to see them through, but if they get two draws and Cadiz lose both of their games, it won't be enough with them sitting with a much inferior goals difference; they simply have to win at least one of their final two games.

Things are going slightly in the favour of Mallorca, however, as they do meet with one of the league’s most out-of-form sides in Vallecano, while they also travel to Osasuna on the final day of the season, and they have nothing to play for but a top half finish.

Firstly, they are in desperate need of a win here mainly because there is a great chance that Cadiz do not beat Real, especially after the La Liga champions are coming off the back of a stunning 6-0 victory over Levante.

Meanwhile, Javier Aguirre's are not in good form right now and have seen themselves drop back into the relegation spots after defeats to Barcelona and Granada following on from their win over Deportivo Alaves, that gave them great confidence in getting out of the relegation zone.

The club also managed to beat Atletico Madrid in April, and with them drawing away to Sevilla last time out, Mallorca are certainly giving it a good go here in the fight to survive.

For Vallecano, it’s been about as topsy-turvy of a season as it gets. Their first few weeks back in La Liga were sensational, as Radamel Falcao was scoring in the club’s early pursuit at getting into Europe, and come December, they were still fighting for a spot in the Champions League.

However, the club took a disastrous turn in 2022, and they are now sitting 12th in the table and closer to the bottom three than they are to the Europa Conference League spot in sixth.

Andoni Iraola's side can still finish inside the top 10, however, which would be more than commendable given how it is still just their first season in La Liga for two years.

Forebet predicts a very important win for Mallorca here and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
