Rampant Man City set for another high-scoring win over West Ham

Fresh from thrashing Wolves 5-1 in midweek, Manchester City will be looking to edge closer to the Premier League title when they face West Ham at the London Stadium on Sunday.

With two games remaining this season, Pep Guardiola’s side sit three points clear of second-place Liverpool. Crucially, the hold a +7 goal difference over the Reds.

Meanwhile, the Hammers find themselves in seventh place – three points outside the top six and a whopping 34 points behind Man City.

Last weekend, West Ham bounced back from the disappointment of being knocked out of the Europa League with a thumping 4-0 victory over Norwich City.

Said Benrahma bagged a brace at Carrow Road, while Jarrod Bowen registered a hat-trick of assists. Michael Antonio and Manuel Lanzini completed the scoring.

It is worth noting, however, that last weekend’s victory ended a four-game winless run for the Hammers in the Premier League – following a draw and three losses.

When you look at the bigger picture, David Moyes’ side have lost five of their previous nine league games. That does not bode well for the visit of Man City.

As for Man City, they crushed Wolves 5-1 last time out – with Kevin De Bruyne netting FOUR of his team’s goals at Molineux.

Guardiola’s men head into Sunday’s clash on a five-game winning streak in the Premier League, having dispatched Brighton, Watford, Leeds and Newcastle before thrashing Wolves.

Not only have Man City avoided defeat in each of their last ten Premier League outings, but they have also lost just one of their previous 26.

Having scored over 3.5 goals in each of their past four Premier League games, the Cityzens will be confident of racking up another high-scoring win this weekend.

Head-to-head: West Ham have only managed to win one of their last 15 meetings with Man City in all competitions, suffering 12 losses in the process.

To make matters worse for the Hammers, Guardiola’s side have scored over 3.5 goals in six of their previous 13 encounters across all competitions.

Team news: Angelo Ogbonna remains a long-term injury absentee for West Ham, while Said Benrahma, Craig Dawson and Michail Antonio are doubts for Sunday.

As for Man City, they look set to be without the injured defensive trio of Ruben Dias, Kyle Walker and John Stones for the rest of the season.

Given Man City’s recent scoring record, Guardiola’s side look destined to register another high-scoring victory on Sunday.

Forebet predicts that Man City will score over 2.5 goals on their way to seeing off the Hammers.
