The Polish top flight season continues on Friday night and features this upcoming clash between Jagiellonia Bialystok and Legia Warsaw, both of whom find themselves in the bottom half of the Ekstraklasa, when the two teams meet at the Stadion Miejski.

Jagiellonia Bialystok currently occupy 13th place in the Polish top flight standings and the hosts have slowly but steadily drifted down the Ekstraklasa table after managing to pick up just one win out of their last 11 matches overall.

That rare win came in the shape of a 2-1 home win over Zaglebie Lubin but four defeats and six draws have not been enough to prevent Jagiellonia from sliding downwards towards the relegation zone.

Although Jagiellonia possess a useful five-point cushion over the bottom three, the fact that they’ve captured just the one league win since mid-February will be sending alarm bells ringing through the host’s camp while sending some positive vibes to Friday’s visitors, Legia Warsaw.

The hosts have also won just one of their last seven games on home soil at their Stadion Miejski.

Onto Legia Warsaw, and the visitors sit in a more respectable mid-table position of 10th place in the Ekstraklasa thanks to their 5-3 victory against Gornik Zabrze on the weekend.

That victory not only lifted Legia Warsaw away from the lower reaches of the division but also put an end to a previously worrying three-match losing streak which consisted of defeats to Piast Gliwice, Pogon and Stal Mielec respectively.

So the visitors will be in a more confident frame of mind for this Friday night encounter.

In addition, it’s worth pointing out that those three aforementioned defeats have been Legia Warsaw’s only slip-ups in their last 12 league matches overall.

The visitors have also picked up six wins during this sequence as well.

Legia Warsaw have also lost just twice in their last seven outings on the road, while failing to score on just one occasion.

So this solid improvement in form on the road should stand Legia Warsaw in good stead at the Stadion Miejski.

Legia Warsaw also hold a pretty good head to head record against Jagiellonia Bialystok as the visitors have lost just one of the previous eight meetings and look set to take something from this trip.
