Fulham Expected to Edge Closer to the Title by Beating Forest

Fulham will look to take one step closer to winning the Championship title as they welcome Nottingham Forest to Craven Cottage this Tuesday night with them currently nine points clear at the top of the table and just a few more points away from claiming the trophy.

The Cottagers have been down in the Championship for just one season after relegation from the Premier League last year, but in reality, they’ve had one foot back into the top flight since around December time where Marco Silva’s men began to bridge a gap on those below them in first.

The club haven’t actually won the Championship title since 2001, despite their many promotions into the Premier League.

They’ve secured two second tier titles, making this one their third, but without a doubt, it will be their most convincing and one of the greatest displays in Championship history across the 46-game league.

Fulham have managed to win 26 games in the league this year after they secured promotion into the Premier League by beating Preston North End 3-0.

Silva's side then met with second-placed Bournemouth, where they could have all but secured the title with a win, but Aleksandar Mitrovic's 41st goal of the season was cancelled out by a late Dominic Solanke penalty.

The London side have still managed to score 99 goals in the league thus far, and if they can continue on in their excellent form right now, they will certainly break Manchester City’s goalscoring record of 108 goals - they need just one more to equal Bolton Wanderers’ second-best record of 100 goals set back in 1997.

Forest themselves are on the promotion charge here, and they will feel as if they are playing Fulham at the best time with promotion for them already secured.

Forest have moved up into fourth following recent results, and with them only five points off second-placed Bournemouth and with two games in hand over third-placed Huddersfield Town, they will be eyeing up the places above them.

Steve Cooper's men have won their past two games since losing a must-win tie with Luton Town a 11 days ago, as they hammered West Bromwich Albion 4-0, before they edged past Peterborough United in the league too.

With a game against Fulham here and a trip to Bournemouth to come, it's set to be an incredibly tense few weeks for Forest. At Craven Cottage, however, Forebet predicts a win for the home side and the game to see over 2.5 goals.
