PSG Look to Secure the Ligue 1 Title With a Win Against Lens

Paris Saint-Germain will look to officially regain the title this weekend when they meet with Lens at the Parc des Princes with the club made to wait for the trophy after Marseille defeated Nantes in midweek.

PSG defeated Angers 3-0 last time out in a night that could have seen them win their eighth league title in 10 years, but despite another Kylian Mbappe masterclass, Marseille made sure the champagne was put on ice for now.

However, with only five games remaining and just 16 points left on the board and the gap already at 15 points, this is set to be the game where they officially snatch the title back from Lille.

In reality, there’s been little doubt in this being the case for the majority of the season, and the recent win over Angers was further proof of this.

Mbappe scored his 33rd goal of the season on that day - 22 of which have come in 30 Ligue 1 games - as Sergio Ramos got on the scoresheet for the second time in PSG colours. Ramos was playing in just his eighth game for the club, and with two goals on the board, he has still managed to perform.

Captain Marquinhos got the other goal for the Paris outfit, but Edouard Michut was sent off in the 92nd minute, and he will now not be available for this one with the 19-year-old having to celebrate the potential title win from the stands.

PSG also managed to get past their closest title rivals Mrseille just last weekend, as Neymar got another goal in the midst of his excellent form in Ligue 1, with Mbappe also netting from the spot in the 2-1 win.

As for Lens, despite all attention being on Lionel Messi and co. and a potential title, they are still fighting to get into the European spots, and with only five games left to play, they sit in a decent position.

The race for Europe in Ligue 1 is absolutely incredible right now, and no division in Europe is witnessing anything as close.

Monaco in fifth, Strasbourg in fourth, and Rennes in third are all on 56 points, meaning the Europa Conference League, Europa League and the final Champions League spot remain up for grabs.

It’s near impossible to not back PSG to win here given the importance for them, and it looks set to be the day they reclaim the title on home soil. Forebet predicts a game of over 2.5 goals and Mauricio Pochettino to finally get his hands on a league title and win here.
