Rangers to Get the Win Over Braga in a Tense Europa League Last 8 Clash
Rangers FC vs Sporting Braga - 14/04/2022
4024
Rangers and Sporting Braga will clash in the second leg of their Europa League quarter-finals battle as the Portuguese side bring with them to Ibrox a narrow 1-0 lead thanks to a first half goal from Abel Ruiz.
The former Barcelona man got just his fourth goal of the season when he netted against the Gers last Thursday in a game where there was very little separating either side.
Rangers did fail to register a single shot on target, but they also limited Braga to very few chances of their own.
The Scottish side also saw their losing run extend to two games as a result of the away loss, as they also were defeated by their Old Firm rivals, Celtic, at Ibrox.
Nevertheless, Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men returned to winning ways last Sunday as they hammered St. Mirren to send a reminder to both Celtic and Braga that their season is far from over.
Joe Aribo scored another goal in an excellent season for him, but it was Kemar Roofe who stole the show with a hat-trick inside 50 minutes.
Roofe has now netted 15 times this season for the club, and alongside Alfredo Morelos, they must be firing on all cylinders to beat a Braga side by two goals on the night, which will be far from an easy task given their excellent defensive record in Portugal.
Carlos Carvalhal's men kept another clean sheet last weekend when they met with Vizela and won 1-0 away from home, meaning Braga have conceded just 28 goals all season long.
It was only two weeks ago that the club defeated Benfica in the Primeira Liga too, as goals from Iuri Medeiros, Andre Horta, and Vitinha sealead a stunning 3-2 win.
It now means Braga haven't tasted defeat since their upset at the hands of Gil Vicente, as they also edged past Monaco in the round of 16 last month in a 3-1 aggregate win which included victory at home and a draw in France.
It’s a massive week for Rangers who also have a Scottish Cup semi-finals battle on Sunday with their Old Firm foes once more, but this won’t deter van Bronckhorst’s thinking away from picking his best side in what could be their biggest European night since they reached the UEFA Cup final in 2008.
It's now doubt going to be another close one, and Forebet predicts a game of under 2.5 goals and for the home side to bag the win in 90 minutes.
