Real to Register Another Easy Win Over Getafe as They Edge Nearer the Title
3313

Real Madrid are set to edge even closer to the title with another La Liga win as they welcome Getafe to the Santiago Bernabéu this weekend with the away side looking to make it a rare two wins on the bounce in Spain.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men have been excellent all campaign long in both Europe and La Liga, and in reality, after a fantastic away day to the European champions Chelsea, a league and Champions League double really isn’t too far away from reality right now.

The form of the club has continued for months and there’s been little doubt they’d win the title. Now, with Karim Benzema becoming just the second man in history to register back-to-back hat-tricks in the Champions League, the confidence is back following a stunning 4-0 loss at home in the El Clasico a few weeks ago.

Benzema’s treble in the 3-1 win was another thing of beauty, because while his third goal was a gift, the other two headers were of the highest order and left Edouard Mendy no chance.

After scoring a hat-trick in the fantastic victory over Paris Saint-Germain prior to the Stamford Bridge trip, it’s now a stunning 37 goals in 36 games for the Frenchman in what is now his best goalscoring season, despite missing fixtures through injury.

Back in La Liga, the league leaders made amends for their jaw-dropping defeat to Barcelona after they beat Celta Vigo away from home with, of course, another brace from Benzema.

The serial winners of La Liga are now 12 points clear of their El Clasico rivals in the league, and in reality, the league title will be theirs once more in a matter of weeks.

Getafe are into 14th after their 1-0 win over Mallorca put them on a run of three games without defeat, as they have lost just twice since the start of February.

Real’s record is simply too good for Getafe to deal with, and confidence is just too high as well. The Bernabéu side have scored 61 times in La Liga this season and let in just 26 goals too - both are the best in the league across the 20 clubs this season.

In fact, with Getafe scoring the league's second-lowest amount (28), they have almost scored as many as Real have conceded. With this in mind, it should be a comfortable win for the league leaders, and Forebet predicts another Real win and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
