Everton will resume their battle against relegation from the Premier League when they welcome Manchester United to Goodison Park on Saturday.
Following Wednesday’s 3-2 loss to Burnley, the Toffees find themselves just one point outside the bottom three in seventeenth place.
At the opposite end of the table, the Red Devils sit in seventh place – three points shy of the Champions League spots.
Everton came from behind to lead 2-1 at Turf Moor in midweek. However, they ended up conceding two second-half goals and throwing away their advantage.
The Toffees have now lost six of their last seven Premier League games, conceding over 1.5 goals on four occasions during that period.
When you look at the bigger picture, Frank Lampard’s men have lost ten of their previous 12 Premier League outings.
Having managed to win just three of their past 23 Premier League games, it is no surprise that Everton have been dragged into the relegation battle.
As for Man Utd, they head into Saturday’s clash on the back of a 1-1 draw against Leicester City at old Trafford.
The Red Devils have managed to win just one of their last six games across all competitions, recording three draws and two losses in the process.
Thanks to Arsenal’s loss to Crystal Palace on Monday, Man Utd remain just three points outside the Champions League places.
Only the top three teams in the Premier League have suffered fewer losses than the Old Trafford outfit this season.
That said, seven sides have picked up more Premier League wins than Man Utd. They must start turning draws into wins in order to finish in the top four.
Head-to-head: Everton have failed to win any of their last six meetings with Man Utd across all competitions, recording four draws and two losses.
When you look at the bigger picture, the Toffees have only managed to win one of their previous 15 encounters against the Red Devils.
Team news: Everton could be without as many as eight first-team players this weekend, including Andre Gomes, Tom Davies and Andros Townsend.
Man Utd forward Edinson Cavani will miss Saturday’s clash due to injury. There are also question marks over Cristiano Ronaldo, Luke Shaw and Jesse Lingard.
Although Man Utd have not been at their best of late, they shouldn’t struggle to overcome lowly Everton.
Forebet predicts that both teams will score on Saturday. However, Manchester United are expected to come out on top.
