Leicester and Crystal Palace braced for tense stalemate

Leicester City and Crystal Palace are locked on 37 points in the Premier League table as they prepare to do battle at the King Power Stadium on Sunday.

Ninth-place Crystal Palace find themselves one place ahead of tenth-place Leicester thanks to their superior goal difference.

It is worth noting, however, that Leicester have two games in hand over the Eagles. Can the Foxes leapfrog Patrick Vieira’s side this weekend?

Following a turbulent mid-season spell, it feels as though Brendan Rodgers’ men have found their feet in recent weeks.

Indeed, Leicester have lost just one of their previous five Premier League games – picking up three wins and one draw along the way.

Having racked up 11 shots at Old Trafford last weekend, the Foxes can count themselves pretty unlucky to have only drawn 1-1 with Manchester United.

Given that Leicester have lost just one of their last 12 home games in all competitions, they will be confident of avoiding defeat on Sunday.

On the flip side, Crystal Palace head into Sunday’s clash on the back of an excellent 3-0 victory over Arsenal.

Despite seeing just 31% at Selhurst Park, the Eagles claimed an impressive win against the Gunners via goals from Jean-Philippe Mateta, Jordan Ayew and Wilfried Zaha.

Thaks to Monday’s victory, Vieira’s side come into this clash on a seven-game unbeaten streak across all competitions.

That said, they have only managed to win three of their previous 16 away games in the Premier League – meaning they could struggle to claim all three points this weekend.

Head-to-head: Crystal Palace have failed to win any of their last five Premier League meetings with Leicester City.

Across the past ten Premier League meetings, however, Palace have claimed four victories – one more than Leicester.

Team news: Leicester will be without the injured quartet of Jamie Vardy, Danny Ward, Ryan Bertrand and Wilfred Ndidi on Sunday.

As for Crystal Palace, there are question marks over the fitness of Nathan Ferguson (hamstring) and Michael Olise (ankle).

Given that Leicester and Crystal Palace are locked on 37 points, Sunday’s clash is likely to be a tight encounter.

For that reason, Forebet predicts that Leicester and Crystal Palace will play out a low-scoring draw.
