Another Draw Expected for Las Palmas and Leganés
UD Las Palmas vs CD Leganes - 28/03/2022
4129
Two sides looking to make their way into the top six of the Segunda Division will meet this weekend as Las Palmas play hosts to Leganes at the Estadio Gran Canaria with there being just two points between them in the table.
Las Palmas recently returned to the winning column in their last game which did move them up into ninth in the table and a bit of a distance off their 13th-placed finish of last season.
Armando Sadiku scored the game's only goal as the club beat Real Valladolid to end what was a winless run streaking to five games prior to the win.
Burgos, Real Zaragoza, Lugo, Huesca, and Girona all managed to sneak points off Las Palmas during this run, but on the other hand, they do with with 11 wins, 11 draws, and 10 defeats now, while also scoring 39 goals and conceding 39 too.
It all points to a very average season for the club, and they are rightfully so sat down in ninth and are likely going to spend another year in the division.
Las Palmas are now sitting 14 points adrift of third-placed Valladolid, and it does seem as if the aims for the club should be targetting the top six instead.
Worse yet though, they are just three points adrift of 15th-placed Huesca after they drew 0-0 a few weeks back, and this means that within just a sole gameweek, should Las Palmas lose and other results go against them, they could all of a sudden be sucked into a fight in the bottom half.
As for Leganes, despite sitting 13th and two points below their opposition here, the club are unbeaten in their past eight games and have not tasted defeat for over two months now as they lost to Burgos 4-0 back in January.
Leganes recently drew 1-1 with Ibiza and Sporting Gijon to carry them into 13th in the table, but just prior to this, the club won three of their last six games as they beat Alcorcon, Zaragoza, Amorebieta, and Mirandes.
It still leaves them with 10 defeats and 10 wins so far in the Segunda Division, but with just a point off the top half of the table and two away from Las Palmas, Leganes could find themselves inside the top 10 if they win here.
Forebet predicts a draw here and the game to see under 2.5 goals with both sides being so close to each other right now.
