Bottom-Half Fighters Shrewsbury and Lincoln Set to Draw Once More on Saturday
1923

Shrewsbury Town will welcome Lincoln City to Montgomery Waters Meadow this Saturday as both sides look to edge themselves closer to getting into the top half amidst a troublesome season for each team in 2021/22.

Shrewsbury, despite sitting down in 16th and worrying about relegation for much of the campaign, are currently in the midst of their best stint of form shown all season as they have won their past two games without conceding a single goal.

More importantly, however, is how the club managed to stunningly pull off eight goals spread across these two fixtures.

In fact, Steve Cotterill's men managed to pull off the result of the season across League One just last weekend as they beat the comfortable league leaders, Rotherham United, 3-0.

Better yet, this victory was at Rotherham's ground too, but just prior to this back on home soil, Shrewsbury also beat Morecambe 5-0 to register their highest-scoring win of the season just before picking up their best performance of the campaign.

The Shropshire side are still down in 16th, however, but with 13 points now separating them and the bottom three, it's fair to say that they will be safe for another year in League One.

At the same time, they've now won 11 games in the division and sit only five points off 12th-placed Cheltenham Town, and they can seriously revitalise their attempts at getting into the top half with a victory here.

Lincoln now trail their opposition here by three points in the table as they sit down in 18th with an 11-point gap on the relegation zone.

It does also give them great breathing space in League One from now until May, but a defeat here for the Imps and it would be hard to justify how they get themselves into the top 12 of the table with only seven more games remaining for them after this clash.

Lincoln do still have a game in hand on many above them too, and after picking up a point against Sunderland last time out, they have now managed to secure seven points throughout March which is just two fewer than they picked up during their excellent performances in March.

Forebet predicts another draw here with them both sat in the bottom half of the division, and Forebet too expects the game to see under 2.5 goals with only 83 goals being scored across 77 games between the two.
