As we head into the business end of the Algerian Ligue 1 season, Paradou AC host MC Alger in a crucial top-three clash on Monday night.

MC Alger sit second in the standings – five points behind first-place CR Belouizdad. However, CR Belouizdad have two games in hand.

Meanwhile, Paradou AC find themselves third – one point behind MC Alger and three points clear of fourth-place JS Saoura.

It goes without saying that both sides will be desperate to win this clash in order to keep their title hopes alive.

Paradou AC head into Monday’s clash on a two-game winning streak, having dispatched NC Magra and WA Tlemcen in recent weeks.

Better still, PAC have lost just one of their previous five league games – securing two wins and two draws in the process.

It is also worth pointing out that PAC have lost only one of their last eight home games in the league, meaning they will be confident of avoiding defeat on Monday.

Although PAC are the top scorers in the league (33), they have the worst defensive record in the top half (24).

Meanwhile, MC Alger have lost just one of their previous six league games – picking up four wins and one draw along the way.

They even managed to thrash RC Relizane 8-2 earlier this month, with Samy Frioui scoring five of the goals.

That said, MCA’s away recent away record is not pretty. They have only won four of their previous 25 away matches in the league.

On a brighter note, trends show that MCA have not lost at half time in any of their last 16 encounters in the league.

Head-to-head: It is worth noting that Paradou AC have failed to beat MC Alger in any of their previous 12 league meetings.

Not only have MCA have four of their last five matches against PAC, but they have also won seven of the previous nine.

Team news: PAC will be without the injured trio of Allan Okello, Merouane Zerrouki and Mohamed rEDA Hamidi on Monday.

As for MCA, they head into this clash without any injury concerns. Having netted 14 goals in 20 games, Samy Frioui is MCA’s danger man.

Given that PAC and MCA are separated by just a single point in the standings, Monday’s match is destined to be a close affair.

For that reason, Forebet predicts that Paradou AC and MC Alger will play out a low-scoring draw.
