Mainz and Arminia Bielefeld will clash this weekend in what is set to be a must-win game for the away side just as Mainz look to reestablish themselves inside the top 10 with another three points.
Bo Svensson's men have fallen back to losing ways recently and seen their position inside the top half of the Bundesliga come under threat with the club now dropping down into 10th place after two defeats in a row to Union Berlin and Borussia Dortmund.
Just prior to this, though, Mainz were in form with victories over Hoffenheim and Bayer Leverkusen coming in February along with a draw against Freiburg.
Now, however, with the latest defeat being their 11 in the league season, they've lost the most inside the top 10 and must not work to get back nearer to Eintracht Frankfurt.
On a brighter note, Mainz do have a game in hand on all above them, meaning Frankfurt and Union Berlin are in touching distance with a win here. The 05ers have also won 10 times in the league, which is the joint-most for those outside of the top six.
What has stolen the show for Mainz this season, however, is their stunning defensive record. Despite not keeping a clean sheet in their past four games, the club have only let in 30 goals all league season, for which only Bayern Munich (28) and Freiburg (29) can boast better records.
It does put Bielefeld in a tricky situation given how they hold the league's worst record of 22 goals scored from 26 games - this is worse than bottom-placed Greuther Furth who have won just three times all season.
Similarly to Mainz, though, Bielefeled do boast a decent defensive record of just 34 goals conceded, but it is tough to see how they get man goals here against one of the Bundesliga's best defences.
Frank Kramer's men are also on a three-game losing streak since their win over Union Berlin back in mid-February, as Leverkusen, Augsburg, and Dortmund all beat them as Bielefeld failed to score in all three games.
After a torrid run of form, the club now sit in 15th and are only above relegation-sitting Sturrgart by two points.
Now, a win here is vital and anything but could launch them right into the drop zone if other results go against them.
Forebet is predicting a win here for the home side, as Bielefeld’s lack of goals looks to be a real problem for them this campaign. Forebet also expects the game to see over 2.5 goals.
