Frankfurt Heading to the Last 8 by Beating Betis Once More
Eintracht Frankfurt vs Real Betis - 17/03/2022
4113
Eintracht Frankfurt will play hosts to Real Betis at the Deutsche Bank Park this Thursday night as the German outfit take with them a 2-1 aggregate lead after a fantastic display back in Spain during the first leg.
Filip Kostic got the ball rolling for Frankfurt that last week on Wednesday night, as Daich Kamada sealed the win that day for the club. Nabil Fekir managed to get a goal back for Betis, and this still keeps the tie well open with either side in a decent spot to get free passage into the next round.
The German outfit are the favourites to progress now though after their 2-1 win, and following on from their victory over Vfl Bochum a few days ago, they remain in the win column ahead of the second leg. An own goal brought Frankfurt level against Bochum, but once again it was Kamada who got the winner and stole the show once more.
Such a win has now extended Frankfurt's winning run to three games where the club have scored eight times and conceded three. They've failed to keep a clean sheet during this period, but it right now is still one of the best periods of form Oliver Glasner's men have been in all season.
It has been a really topsy-turvy season for Frankfurt, who after finishing fifth last year in one of their best campaigns in recent times, are now in ninth and have won 10 games and lost nine in the Bundesliga.
At the same time, the club have let in 39 goals and conceded 38 of their own, and it all narrowly keeps them inside the top half of the league.
As for Betis, they too won over the past weekend as they beat Athletic Club 1-0 thanks to an early goal from Borja Iglesias. Fekir was sent off in the second half that day, but he is eligible to play here and will do so once more with him now missing the upcoming La Liga game due to suspension.
This win was Betis' first for five games after drawing their second leg play-off battle with Zenit St Petersburg in the Europa League, while also losing twice in the league and drawing their second leg Copa del Rey tie with Rayo Vallecano too.
Such form points to another Frankfurt win here, and Forebet predicts they will get the victory and advance into the next round in a game that sees over 2.5 goals.
