Valencia aiming for third straight La Liga win at Getafe

Valencia’s form is on the uptick and on Saturday night, they will visit Getafe seeking a third straight La Liga win. Since qualifying for the Copa del Rey Final, Valencia have returned their focus to the league.

Los Che sit ninth after 27 matchdays. Ten points currently separate Valencia from the top five. If the club can win the Copa del Rey for the second time in four seasons, then they will qualify automatically for Europe.

Getafe will welcome Valencia to the Coliseum Alfonso Perez this weekend as they seek a much-needed win. Los Azulones are winless in four straight matches and they are coming off of a 2-0 loss to Espanyol last time out.

Quique Sanchez Flores provided a bounce to the relegation-threatened team, but Getafe are now fighting for their La Liga lives once more. Three points separate Getafe from the bottom three in La Liga.

Getafe took six points from the last 18 points available in the division. They scored nine goals and conceded nine times during that run. Valencia did little better picked up seven points from the last 18 points possible. Six of those seven points did come in their last two matches.

Valencia manager Pep Bordalas has a long list of injured and absent players. January loan signing Ilaix Moriba is suspended for the fixture. Joining him will be Omar Alderete, who is also suspended.

Forward Maxi Gomez is a major doubt due to a groin injury. Antonio Latorre, Mouctar Diakhaby, and Thierry Correia are all three major doubts due to their injury problems.

Goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen could return to action following a calf injury. Gaya and Giorgi Mamardashvili are both nearing returns as well.

Flores will be without defender Jorge Cuenca due to suspension. Meanwhile, midfielder Sabit Abdulai is likely to be available following a knee problem.

The home team is unbeaten in eight straight matches between Getafe and Valencia. Earlier this season, Valencia picked up a 1-0 win thanks to a goal from Carlos Soler. The goal came from the penalty spot. Valencia had Hugo Guillmon sent off in the third minute.

Valencia are winless in three straight matches at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez. Their form is good going into the match on Saturday night and Valencia should come away from Getafe with a victory. Getafe’s form are winless in four straight games and that streak should move to five games without a win.

Los Che should pick up a win with over 2.5 goals and both teams scoring. Four of the last five meetings between these clubs saw over 2.5 goals.
