Manchester City expected to gain revenge over Crystal Palace

Manchester City will continue their Premier League title charge when they face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Monday night.

Pep Guardiola’s men are currently six points clear of second-place Liverpool. Still, the Reds have a game in hand over the defending champions.

As for the Eagles, they are one of four teams locked on 33 points. They find themselves in tenth place – 36 points behind Man City.

Although only six sides have registered fewer Premier League wins than Palace this season, they remain in a strong position after picking up 12 draws.

Not team has drawn more games than Palace this term, while just seven sides have suffered fewer defeats.

It is also worth noting that the Eagles head into Monday’s clash on a three-match unbeaten streak across all competitions.

After thrashing Watford 4-1, they drew with Burnley before beating Stoke in the FA Cup. Last time out, they claimed an impressive 2-0 victory over Wolves.

On the flip side, Man City have lost just three of their 28 league games this season – securing 22 wins and three draws along the way.

Not only have they won four of their last five Premier League encounters, but they have also won 16 of their previous 18.

Let’s not forget that Guardiola’s side racked up a 12-game winning streak in the Premier League between November and January.

The Cityzens have been especially strong away from home this term. Indeed, they have avoided defeat in each of their past 13 away games in the Premier League.

It is also worth pointing out that City boast the joint-best defensive record in the league, having conceded just 18 goals.

Head-to-head: Funnily enough, one of Man City’s three Premier League losses this term came against Palace back in October. The Eagles won 2-0 on that occasion.

That said, the Cityzens have lost just one of their last six meetings with Palace – picking up four wins in the process. They also kept three clean sheets in that time.

Team news: Crystal Palace will be without the injured duo of Nathan Ferguson and James McArthur on Monday. Joel Ward is also a doubt for the hosts.

Man City centre-back Ruben Dias looks set to be sidelined for several weeks with a hamstring injury. Nathan Ake, Joao Cancelo and Cole Palmer are also doubts.

Although Palace stunned Man City at the Etihad back in October, City’s dominance should shine through this time around.

Forebet predicts that Man City will score over 1.5 goals on their way to seeing off the Eagles at Selhurst Park.
