Blackburn to Return to Winning Ways by Edging Past Millwall
5917

Blackburn Rovers will welcome Millwall to Ewood Park this Tuesday night as the home side look to return to winning ways following a tumble in 2022 just as the away outfit aim for six wins on the bounce.

Millwall have been one of the Championship’s most in-form sides in the past couple of months and have subsequently moved into the top 10 for the first time in the calendar year and now are right back in contention to get into the play-offs.

It is still going to take a lot for the Lions to get into the top six as they trail sixth-placed Middlesbrough by three points, but times can in this dramatic league in one gameweek.

Now, if Millwall can make it six wins on the run, they might well be one of the favourites to land a place in the top six come May.

Over the five games they've racked up the wins, the club have beaten Cardiff City, Queens Park Rangers, Derby County, Sheffield United, and most recently Reading.

Within this time, Millwall have conceded only two goals and scored eight times and it’s going to take some performance from a side to beat them right now.

Blackburn are, however, still within the top six despite a bit of a tumble over the past couple of months that has seen them lose their grip on the play-off places and drop out of the top two automatic promotion places into the Premier League.

Tony Mowbray’s men fell to defeat once again last weekend as they lost to Fulham 2-0, which came off the back of them beating QPR 1-0 which initially reestablished them within the top six as a threat.

Now, however, after losing the Flham, the club now sit only three points ahead of seventh-placed Sheffield United and a defeat to Millwall here would seriously close the gap on those below them and really start to worry fans at Ewood Park.

That victory over QPR was also Blackburn's first for seven games and it remains their only victory in the past eight as they've seen important players lost to injury in this time. Top scorer and Championship hotshot, Ben Brereton Diaz, remains sidelined and his goals have been missed incredibly over the past month.

Despite the lack of form, at home, Mowbray’s side have remained relatively solid and Forebet predicts they will win here but in a low-scoring game due to the lack of attacking options Blackburn have. Forebet expects the game to see under 2.5 goals.
