Norwich City host Brentford in PL relegation six-pointer

After a strong start to their first-ever Premier League season, Brentford are in trouble. Relegation looms over the Bees as they head to Carrow Road for a gigantic six-point match versus Norwich City on Saturday.

These teams have a history against one another in the Championship. Both sides were promoted last season from the second division.

Brentford start the weekend in 15th place. With Newcastle and Burnley’s sudden improvements in form and points, the Bees are at risk of relegation. Just three points separate Brentford from the drop.

Norwich City are at the bottom of the league table ahead of the match this weekend. The Canaries are on a three-match league losing streak. Five points separate Norwich City and Everton, who occupy 17th place.

Brentford are at the bottom of the Premier League form table after taking one point from the last 18 points available in the league. The Bees scored just three goals in their last six games. The last two Brentford matches in the league ended as defeats.

Norwich City are fresh off of a 2-1 loss in the FA Cup fifth round at Anfield. The Canaries were played off the park until the 70th minute when they sparked to life, making the game a closer than it really was.

Dean Smith’s Canaries are unbeaten in three straight games versus Brentford. Norwich City claimed a 2-1 win earlier this season at Brentford Community Stadium as Mathias Normann and Teemu Pukki scored in the first half. Brentford’s Rico Henry scored on the hour, but it wasn’t enough for a comeback.

Smith should have defenders Max Aarons and Brandon Williams available after they recently suffered knocks. Ozan Kabak could be fit and will undergo a late fitness test. Adam Idah and Andrew Omobamidele are both ruled out of action.

Joshua Dasilva will miss the game for Brentford due to a red card suspension. Tarique Fosu is ruled out of action with a thigh injury. In addition, Julian Jeanvier has a knee injury and will miss the game.

Norwich City are unbeaten in three straight games in all competitions versus Brentford. They are showing more fight in the league than the Bees. Norwich City picked up seven points from the last 18 points available.

Playing at home should help the Canaries as they defeat Brentford to nil on Saturday. It is should be a low scoring game as Norwich City eke out a 1-0 win.
