Real Madrid will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the La Liga table when Real Sociedad visit the Bernabeu on Saturday night.

Los Blancos find themselves six points clear of second-place Sevilla with 12 games remaining this season. With third-place Real Betis sitting 14 points behind, the title battle is now a two-horse race.

As for Sociedad, they currently occupy sixth place – one point shy of fourth-place Barcelona and 16 points behind Real Madrid.

Real Madrid have lost just two of their 26 La Liga matches this season, picking up 18 wins and six draws along the way.

Their last defeat came against Getafe in early January, meaning they have only lost one of their previous 18 league encounters.

Los Blancos head into Saturday’s clash on a six-game unbeaten streak in La Liga, having secure four wins and two draws since their last loss.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men have also kept a clean sheet in each of their last four league outings, precenting Granada, Villarreal, Alaves and Rayo Vallecano from scoring.

Real Madrid are the top scorers in La Liga, too, having netted a whopping 52 goals across 26 games this term.

Meanwhile, Sociedad claimed a 2-0 victory over Mallorca on Wednesday to enhance their chances of playing Champions League football next season.

That means Sociedad have won three of their previous four La Liga matches without conceding a single goal.

When you look at the bigger picture, Sociedad have kept six clean sheets across their past seven La Liga encounters.

It is also worth noting that Sociedad have lost just one of their previous eight league games, picking up four wins and three draws in the process.

Head-to-head: Real Sociedad have failed to win any of their last four meetings with Real Madrid, scoring just two goals in the process.

When you look at the bigger picture, Real Sociedad have only managed to win one of their previous six La Liga clashes against Los Blancos.

Team news: Real Madrid will be without the injured duo of Casemiro and Ferland Mendy for the visit of Real Sociedad.

As for Sociedad, they currently have three players sidelined through injury – Carlos Fernandez, Nacho Monreal and Ander Barrenetxea.

Sociedad will almost certainly give Los Blancos a run for their money, but Real Madrid’s quality should shine through on Saturday.

With that in mind, Forebet predicts that Real Madrid will beat Sociedad – although both teams are likely to score.
