West Brom to Finally Get a Win Under Bruce as They Beat Swansea
3556

West Bromwich Albion will welcome Swansea City to The Hawthorns this Monday night as they look to get their play-off quest back on track following a dismal 2022 that has seen them drop so far in the table that they almost touch the bottom half.

The Baggies are currently 11th, but following on from yet another defeat as they lost to Middlesbrough, there’s now a seven-point gap for the club to deal with on the play-offs after previously being one of the teams tipped to earn promotion back into the Premier League.

Since the sacking of Valérien Ismaël and the arrival of Steve Bruce, West Brom have indeed got much worse and have now slipped six places in the table, following losses to Sheffield United, Boro, and Luton Town, as they also drew 0-0 with Blackburn Rovers.

It leaves him winless since moving to the Midlands side, and at the same time, means the former Premier League outfit haven’t won a game for six fixtures following further 2-0 defeats to Preston North Endand Millwall at the end of January. Peterborough United remain the only side to fall to defeat to the Baggies in 2022.

Bruce’s men are now one of the Championship’s most out-of-form sides, but they will fancy themselves to get the job done over a Swansea side that was recently demolished 4-0 by Sheffield United and who fight in the bottom half still.

The Swans are a healthy 17 points adrift of the bottom three, and in reality, safe from relegation this season, but as of now, a chance at finishing in the top half most certainly feels like a big ask if form continues.

The club are currently eight points off the top 12 right now, but with three games in hand on sides above them like Preston and Bristol City, the Welsh outfit will start to get confident if they can piece together some decent results.

Swansea have still racked up decent scores in 2022 despite the overall negative tone, as they have beaten Bristol, Blackburn Rovers, and Preston.

On the other hand though, these three victories remain the only ones in 2022 and you have to track back to mid-November to see their wins prior to the turn of the year.

Moreover, to put in perspective just how much West Brom have fallen, they now sit only eight clear of the 17th-placed side.0

Now, with the Baggies’ torrid form and Swansea’s fight to reclaim a top half status in the Championship, Forebet predicts a win for West Brom, and for the game to see under 2.5 goals given their lack of goals.
