Spurs to Keep Their Top 4 Hopes Alive With a Narrow Win at Burnley

Burnley will play hosts to Tottenham Hotspur at Turf Moor this Wednesday night as the Clarets look to leap above Watford in the bottom three just as the Lilywhites aim to move level on points with Arsenal and West Ham United in the intense battle for the top four.
Spurs’ Antonio Conte era got off to a flying start as it took the Italian nine Premier League games to taste defeat, which saw the club move from around mid-table to back within a shout of achieving European football again for next campaign.
However, following their excellent first 10 games with Conte, the club would lose three in a row in the Premier League to leave the club down near where they began.
Spurs have also put together an excellent FA Cup run in this time, but last weekend was easily their best result of the season as they defeated the champions, Manchester City.
Spurs led three times in a thrilling Premier League classic, as Dejan Kulusevski got the ball rolling very early on before Ilkay Gundogan equalised.
Two fantastic number nine-esque goals from the superstart Pep Guardiola so desperately wanted, Harry Kane, retook the lead for his side, however.
A Riyad Mahrez penalty looked to have salvaged a point for City, but Kane’s excellent header in the 95th minute won it for Spurs.
Not only did Conte get one over on Guardiola and Kane score twice against the side he almost joined, but the north London outfit are now back on form for the Champions League spots.
A win takes them just four points behind fourth-placed Manchester United in the race for top four, but with Spurs meeting United in just three weeks, this is now a must-win for Conte and his men.
As for Burnley, they too got their best result of the league season to date last weekend as they thrashed a Brighton & Hove Albion side 3-0 that had previously lost just five games all league season.
It was also only the Clarets’ second win of the Premier League campaign, and they are now five points off safety with two games in hand.
Wout Weghorst scored a very well-taken goal that day to get off the mark in claret and blue, as he also assisted another in Burnley’s highest-scoring victory since beating Rochdale 4-1 back in September in the EFL Cup.
Conte’s run should continue, however, and Forebet predicts a Spurs win here and a game that will see over 2.5 goals.
