The Premier League title race is back on! Liverpool are six points behind league leaders Manchester City and could pull within three points of the Cityzens with a victory on Wednesday against Leed United.

Liverpool welcome Leeds United with the aim of winning a ninth straight game in all competitions. Jurgen Klopp’s team has won five straight Premier League games and is looking stronger than ever.

Leeds United are on a four-match winless streak. Their last two games in the Premier League finished as losses.

Five points currently separate Leeds United from the relegation zone. A shock win for Leeds United could give them some breathing space.

In the reverse fixture, Liverpool claimed a 3-0 win at Elland Road. Mohamed Salah scored on 20 minutes and Fabinho doubled the lead on 50 minutes.

Sadio Mane added a third goal on 90 minutes. Despite Liverpool’s third goal not coming until second half stoppage-time, they were never in trouble.

The only blemish on the day for Liverpool was Harvey Elliot fracturing his ankle courtesy of a tackle from Pascal Struijk. The defender was sent off for the tackle.

These teams have met four times since 2016 in all competitions. Liverpool posted three wins and one draw across those four games.

Liverpool are the Premier League’s form team going into the game. The Reds picked up 16 points from the last 18 points available. They scored 14 times and conceded four goals.

Leeds United picked up seven points from the last 18 points available in the league. They were –3 in goals scored across their last six games.

Leeds United’s last three games all finished with over 2.5 goals scored. They conceded four times to Manchester United on Sunday.

Liverpool are undefeated at Anfield in the Premier League this season. The Reds have a home record of 9W-3D-0L. Liverpool have scored 30 goals and conceded seven times at Anfield.

Leeds United have an away record of 2W-4D-6L. The Whites have scored 14 goals and conceded 29 times.

Klopp will be without forward Diogo Jota due to an ankle injury and forward Roberto Firmino following a muscle strain.

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa is without Liam Cooper, Kalvin Phillips, Robin Koch, Patrick Bamford, and Sam Greenwood.

Liverpool mustn’t take Leeds United lightly. The Reds play Chelsea in the EFL Cup Final on Sunday, but need to focus on defeating Leeds United.

The Reds should claim a win over Leeds and score three goals versus the visitors for the second time this season.
