In-form Juventus expected to overcome Atalanta

Atalanta and Juventus meet for a hugely important Serie A clash on Sunday night, with both sides pushing to secure Champions League football for next season.

Juventus currently occupy fourth place. They find themselves on 45 points – seven points behind third-place AC Milan.

On the flip side, Atalanta sit fifth – four points clear of sixth-place Lazio and just a single point behind Juventus.

Atalanta have only managed to win one of their previous six Serie A games, recording three losses and two draws in the process.

They head into Sunday’s showdown on a three-game winless run in the league, having registered two draws and a loss since their last win.

It is worth pointing out, however, that only first-place Inter Milan have lost fewer Serie A games than Atalanta this season.

It is also worth noting that Atalanta have lost just seven of their past 52 home clashes in Serie A, meaning they should give Juventus a run for their money this weekend.

While Atalanta are struggling for consistency at the moment, Juventus head into Sunday’s clash on a ten-game unbeaten streak in Serie A.

They last tasted defeat back in November and have since picked up seven wins and three draws in the league.

Not only have Juventus kept a clean sheet in each of their last three Serie A outings, but they have also kept a clean sheet in nine of their previous 13.

Having netted over 1.5 goals in seven of their past ten league matches, they will be confident of outscoring Atalanta on Sunday.

Head-to-head: Remarkably, Atalanta have only managed to beat Juventus twice in their last 33 Serie A encounters.

That said, Juventus have won just one of their previous seven meetings with Atlanta in the league – losing two of the previous three in all competitions.

Team news: Josip Ilicic, Aleksey Miranchuk, Duvan Zapata and Bryan Cabezas are all currently sidelined for Atalanta.

As for Juventus, Giorgio Chiellini, Federico Bernardeschi, Alex Sandro and Federico Chiesa will miss Sunday’s clash through injury.

With Atalanta struggling for form – and Juventus enjoying a lengthy unbeaten streak – all the signs point towards an away win on Sunday.

Forebet predicts that Juventus will edge out Atalanta in their own backyard, scoring over 1.5 goals on their way to victory.
