Vlahovic and Juventus to Edge Past Hellas Verona

Juventus will look to continue their rise up the Serie A ranks after a disastrous start as they meet with Hellas Verona at the Allianz Stadium with the Old Lady looking to get into the Champions League spots for the first time this season.

It has been a long season for the Serie A serial winners who have found that the addition of Max Allegri as manager once again has been far from what it once was as his days of lifting trophy after trophy with them seem like a distant memory.

Andrea Pirlo lost the title to Inter Milan last season, and it does seem as if Allegri is on the same path now. However, the five-time Serie A winner is on the comeback and he has brought Juventus from just above mid-table to a fight for the Champions League spots once again.

As of now, the club are currently sat in fifth but with just a one-point gap on fourth-placed Atalanta, it could be a mere gameweek until we see the Old Lady back in the top four.

At the same time, Juventus are also only seven points off second and third-placed Napoli and AC Milan, respectively, following a goalless draw with Milan in their last outing.

It also extended their winning run to three games since their loss in the Supercoppa Italiana to Inter Milan and they have gone on to beat Udinese 2-0 in convincing style, while they also eased past Sampdoria too in the Coppa Italia thanks to a 4-1 win.

As of now, the Turin outfit still have plenty of work to do to convince the rest of the Serie A they were the powerhouse they once were under Allegri a few years back. However, the January addition of the Serie A’s top marksman, Dusan Vlahovic, may be just that.

The Serbian is set to play his first game here for his new club and he is already bringing with him 17 goals in 19 fixtures this campaign from his Fiorentina days.

It remains to be seen whether or not the club will start him or use the forward off the bench, but one thing is for certain: Juventus’ top four quest is back on.

As for Hellas Verona, they remain in ninth and their chances of finishing in a European spot are still strong too. Forebet predicts a win for Juventus, however, and in a game that will see over 2.5 goals.
