Hellas Verona will welcome Bologna to the Marcantonio Bentegodi Stadium this Friday night as another vital game in Serie A takes place as we enter another crucial gameweek with the home side looking to break into the top 10.
Last campaign, Hellas Verona managed to finish 10th in the table after 15 defeats and only 11 wins from the 38 games, but with eight wins and eight defeats so far, the club have been making decent moves to putting themselves as a regular within the top 10 of Italian football.
They still have a bit of a way to go, however, with the likes of Lazio in eighth and Roma in seventh, while ninth-placed Torino have a game in hand over them.
At the same time, what will give the 10th-placed side great concern is how their opponents here are just three points behind them but sat three places below them too - that is just how close Serie A is this campaign.
Bologna are on 17 points compared to Hellas Verona's 30 and their two extra defeats and only 28 goals has been the difference between them challenging for the top half of the league and not.
Furthermore, they also have a game in hand over the home side here and a win would seriously damper Hellas Verona's chances of finishing in the top 10, and at the very least, chuck them off 10th spot for now if the goal difference in the game is of +2 in favour of the away side.
The Yellow and Blues are in topsy-turvy form right now too, having beaten fellow top 10 contenders Sassuolo, but they also lost to bottom-placed Salernitana just a week prior.
They've also dropped out of the Coppa Italia after losing to Empoli, lost to Torino, drew with Fiorentina, and beaten Spezia within the past month of Serie A action.
Combine this with their 41 goals scored and their 37 conceded and it’s pretty easy to see why they sit where they are in the table.
Bologna also beat Sassuolo as their last win, as they too lost to a team fighting relegation in Cagliari, and they were also brushed aside with ease by Napoli last time out.
It will be a close game given the position of either side, however, Forebet predicts a win for Hellas Verona and a game of over 2.5 goals as the club seem to be involved in high-scoring fixtures often.
