Fulham to Make Light Work of Strugglers Reading in the Championship
Reading vs Fulham - 11/01/2022

Reading will welcome Fulham to the Madejski Stadium this Tuesday night as the two sides who are experiencing entirely contrasting seasons in 2021/22 go head-to-head for what is a must-win clash if they are to stay on track of their goals so far this campaign.
The Royals have had a torrid start to 2022, and in reality, it’s been a disastrous past month that has been destroyed by postponements and dreadful results.
Reading have now gone more than six weeks without winning a game and it has thrown them out of the FA Cup and towards the relegation zone in the Championship.
Recently, the club were on the end of a historic defeat to Kidderminster Harriers as the National League North side beat them 2-1 after coming from behind, which in turn created one of the biggest upsets in recent times as a non-league side from the sixth tier beat a side placed 41st in the football pyramid.
Over results saw them draw with bottom-placed Derby after almost four weeks without a game, as Curtis Davis' 91st-minute goal cancelled out Junior Hoilett's brace.
What was equally as concerning in that game, however, was the fact Derby had an almighty 71% of the ball as the Royals had only three shots on target in the game.
They remain just above the relegation zone, however, with 22 points and three above Peterborough United, but there is absolutely no evidence right now to suggest the club will move away from the bottom three and create a healthy gap between them and the unthinkable.
Fulham have slipped off the top spot in the Championship recently, but it hasn't come as a result of poor results and simply because they have two games in hand.
It has, however, added more pressure onto them in January, but their 1-0 win over Bristol City in the FA Cup has got things off to a positive start for them in 2022.
The Cottagers also remain the highest scorers in the Championship too, as they've netted an extraordinary 51 goals in 23 fixtures already and should return to the top of the second tier if they can win their two games in hand. 22 of these have come from the Championship legend, Aleksandar Mitrovic, as he is the competition’s top scorer once again.
It should be an easy win for Fulham who are on course to return back to the Premier League at the first time of asking, as they and Marco Silva just look too strong for much of the second tier faithful.
Forebet predicts an easy win for them here and in a game that will see over 2.5 goals.
