Sevilla to Ease Past Cadiz and Put Further Pressure on Real Madrid at the Top

Cadiz will welcome Sevilla to the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla as the two sit at completely different ends of the table with the home side just one place from the bottom of the table as the away outfit are just one position away from the top of La Liga.

It has been a fantastic season for Sevilla, who have carried on their excellent form of the past two years into this Spanish top flight campaign where they now sit as the closest rivals to Real Madrid’s seemingly easy title pursuit.

Atletico Madrid have thus far put up a weak defence of their La Liga crown, while Barcelona and Real Soceidad now sit outside of the top four, and in reality, it’s down to Sevilla now to create somewhat of a title race in the division.

As of now, the club sit eight points behind Madrid in second place, however, they do have a game in hand and should they win this, Sevilla’s quest for the title gets cut down to five points and 2022 could then see a more open race.

Julen Lopetegui has done a magnificent job at the club, and their league form has been excellent since they actually lost to Madrid at the end of November.

Lopetegui's men played out a 1-1 draw with Barcelona last time out, but were down to 10 men for much of the game, while they also defeated the champions Atletico before this too.

Further wins came against Villarreal and Athletic Bilbao, and they are also into the last 32 of the Copa del Rey.

In fact, their only slipup this season remains in the Champions League where they finished third in their group campaign to end in the Europa League.

As for Cadiz, relegation seems all but certain for them in this form as they have now lost eight times, drawn eight and won just the two.

However, they did manage to pull off arguably their best result of the season last time out when they drew 0-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu just before Christmas.

However, with only two wins to show for inside La Liga and 31 goals conceded in the league, they remain in 19th.

The club are just a point from getting out of the drop zone, but their overall form has not been shown enough to prove they can overcome this.

It should be a routine victory for Sevilla, who Forebet predicts will win this game here in a clash that sees over 2.5 goals.
