Manchester City will be confident of extending their seemingly unstoppable winning run when Leicester City visit the Etihad Stadium on Boxing Day.
Pep Guardiola’s men have won each of their last eight Premier League games and find themselves three points clear at the top of the table as a result.
Meanwhile, Leicester are ninth – 22 points behind Man City. In truth, the Foxes have struggled for consistency throughout the campaign.
Not only have Man City won each of their last eight Premier League matches, but they have also won ten of their previous 11.
When you look at the bigger picture, they have lost just one of their past 14 league outings – picking up 14 wins and two draws along the way.
After smashing Leeds United 7-0 last week, Guardiola’s side crushed Newcastle United 4-0 at the weekend.
The Cityzens have kept a clean sheet in each of their last three Premier League games, scoring 12 goals in the process.
It is also worth noting that Man City have scored at least one goal in each of their previous 11 meetings across all competitions.
On the flip side, Leicester have won only six of their 16 league matches this term – recording four draws and six losses.
Funnily enough, they also beat Newcastle 4-0 in their previous Premier League game – registering exactly the same score as Man City.
Leicester have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last 15 away games in the Premier League, with both teams scoring on every occasion in that time.
The Foxes already find themselves ten points adrift of the top four, meaning Champions League football does not look likely for next season.
Head-to-head: Across the past four meetings between Man City and Leicester, both sides have picked up two wins.
That said, Man City have won five of their previous seven matches against Leicester in all competitions – keeping four clean sheets along the way.
Team news: Ferran Torres remains Man City’s only long-term injury absentee. Elsewhere, there are question marks over the fitness of Kyle Walker.
Leicester’s extensive injury list includes Wesley Fofana, Jonny Evans, Caglar Soyuncu, James Justin and others.
Given that Man City have won each of their previous eight Premier League games, they are likely to claim all three points on Sunday.
Forebet predicts that Man City will score over 2.5 goals on their way to dispatching the Foxes.
