London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United clash in the EFL Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday, with only two points separating them in the Premier League table.

Spurs find themselves seventh, while the Hammers are fifth. There is very little between these two sides at the moment.

Tottenham head into Wednesday’s clash on the back of a hard-fought 2-2 draw with Liverpool in the Premier League.

Antonio Conte’s men took the lead before coming from behind to rescue a point on home soil. They racked up a total of ten shots, five of which were on target.

Spurs are currently enjoying a five-match unbeaten streak in the Premier League, having secured three wins and two draws since their last loss.

In the EFL Cup, Tottenham beat Wolves on penalties before booking their place in the last eight with a 1-0 victory over Burnley.

Following a spirited display against Liverpool on Sunday, they will now be confident of reaching the semi-finals.

On the flip side, West Ham were beaten 2-0 by Arsenal in their previous outing. That means they have only managed to win one of their last six league matches.

The Hammers made a strong start to the campaign, losing just two of their opening 11 Premier League encounters.

They have taken a turn for the worse of late, however, losing three of their past six while conceding eight goals in the process

That said, David Moyes’ men have already claimed two huge scalps on their way to securing a quarter-final spot in the EFL Cup.

After beating Manchester United in the third round, West Ham played out a goalless draw with Manchester City before beating them on penalties.

Head-to-head: Tottenham have failed to win any of their last three meetings with West Ham, recording a draw and two losses in that time.

The Hammers have also enjoyed success against Spurs in the EFL Cup since 2013, winning two of the three meetings between the teams in the competition.

Team news: Tottenham have just one injury absentee at the moment, with centre-back Cristian Romero sidelined until the new year.

As for West ham, they currently have Angelo Ogbonna, Kurt Zouma, Ben Johnson and Ryan Fredericks on the treatment table.

With only two points between Tottenham and West Ham in the Premier League table, this is destined to be a tight encounter.

With that in mind, Forebet predicts that Tottenham and West Ham will play out a low-scoring draw in normal time.
