On Wednesday night, two of the teams in midtable of Serie A Sassuolo and Bologna go head-to-head, as they both attempt to move up the Italian top-flight table.
Sassuolo have been one of the league’s most entertaining teams to watch of late, as their last 12 matches in Serie A have produced over 2.5 goals.
Both teams have also scored in all 12 games, so clean sheets have been in short supply in Reggio nell'Emilia.
The Neroverdi are unbeaten in six league matches after a 2-2 draw against Fiorentina last time out. The match saw Alessio Dionisi’s team draw their fourth game in that recent unbeaten run.
The draws have done little for their chances of playing European football next season, as they currently lie 11th place in the table, seven points off the top six.
Sassuolo have been inconsistent on home soil of late in Serie A, as they have won just three of their previous nine league games at the MAPEI Stadium.
Bologna are level on points with Sassuolo, but head into this clash on the back of three straight defeats in the Italian top-flight. Last time out, the visitors suffered a 2-0 home defeat against Juventus. The game saw Sinisa Mihajlovic’s team concede at least two goals for a third straight league match.
The Rossoblu’s recent away record has been mixed in Serie A. However, just two wins in the previous 12 league matches on their travels is certainly not a stellar record by any means.
Their recent away games have been relatively high-scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in five of their last seven outings on their travels.
Forebet predicts that this encounter will produce a low-scoring draw, which will do neither team’s chances of pushing into the top half of the table much good.
