The league leaders Fulham will welcome Sheffield United to Craven Cottage this Monday night as the club looks to keep at bay Bournemouth and West Bromwich Albion at the top of the table as the Blades look to get back into the top 10.
It’s been as topsy-turvy of a season as possible for Sheffield United since their demotion to the Championship and following Paul Heckingbottom joining the club on a permanent basis in late November, the club have got much better, but still sit 13th in the table.
This is mainly due to the form of others around them, but in reality, the Blades are in as good of form as most in the league right now following their 3-2 win over Cardiff City two weeks ago.
However, due to postponements, the club have seen their status in the table drop, and Heckingbottom will be praying this hasn’t troubled their form at all.
The play-off march is certainly back on, however, despite the drop in the table, as Sheffield United now sit with 29 points from their past 21 games and this is only six points adrift of Stoke City now, meaning a win in their game in hand and the lead will be just three points.
As mentioned, though, the form really has been up and down all season long as their 28 goals scored and their 28 conceded just about sums up their hit and miss season.
But, nevertheless, since the official appointment of Heckingbottom, things have looked very bright indeed and they should find themselves fighting in the play-offs should form continue into 2022.
As for Fulham, it’s been an absolutely sensational season for them as they are attempting to get right back into the Premier League and are making easy work of it so far.
Right now, the London outfit have scored an astonishing 51 goals from 22 games in the Championship, as Marco Silva shows the world that he does have the managerial capabilities following tough spells at Hull City and Everton.
Silva and his men are in the midst of pretty rough form, however, with four consecutive draws coming, and the past three have all been 1-1 games. One of those clashes was with Bournmouth and in reality, just not losing there was the important part.
Fulham simply just look too good to ignore right now and it may just be a case of if, rather than when they begin to step one foot back in the top flight.
Forebet predicts they will win here again, but in a game that sees under 2.5 goals with the Blades form looking better.
