On Saturday afternoon, Greuther Furth host Augsburg, as the home team look to claim just their second win of the Bundesliga campaign.
Greuther Furth have struggled with life back in the German top-flight. Stefan Leitl’s team have picked up just four points from their opening 16 games in the Bundesliga.
A 3-0 win at Dortmund last time out in the Bundesliga means that Greuther have lost 13 of their last 14 matches in the German top-flight. They have also conceded at least two goals in seven of their last eight matches in the Bundesliga.
Unsurprisingly, considering their poor campaign so far, Greuther Furth have a poor recent home record.
However, last time out on home soil they recorded a historic victory, as they recorded a 1-0 win over Union Berlin. The victory was their first-ever home win in the Bundesliga.
Augsburg are in the perilous relegation play-off spot and just four points clear of the automatic relegation spots. A recent inconsistent run of league form has not helped the visitors hopes of moving away from the danger zone.
However, four points taken from their last two league games could be seen as an improvement on their earlier season form. The fact that the visitors have kept just one clean sheet in their previous 11 matches in the German top-flight.
Augsburg have been poor travellers of late in the Bundesliga, winning just one of their last 14 away games, suffering ten defeats in the process.
However, they have taken four points from a possible six in their last two away matches. Their recent away matches have been relatively low-scoring, with their last three league matches producing under 2.5 goals.
Forebet predicts that this game will produce a high-scoring draw, which wouldn’t help either team’s aims this season.
