Resurgent Arsenal tipped to dispatch faltering Leeds
Leeds United vs Arsenal - 18/12/2021

Leeds United will be looking to bounce back from a humiliating 7-0 thrashing to Manchester City when they welcome Arsenal to Elland Road on Saturday.
Marcelo Bielsa’s men are hovering dangerously above the relegation zone after making a dismal start to the season.
At the opposite end of the standings, Arsenal moved into the top four in midweek. They find themselves 13 points ahead of Leeds.
As we know, Leeds were completely outplayed by Man City in midweek. Not only did they see just 35% possession, but they also faced a barrage of 31 shots.
You probably won’t be surprised to learn that Leeds now have one of the worst defensive records in the division.
Worryingly, Bielsa’s men have only managed to win three of their 17 league matches this term – recording seven draws and seven losses along the way.
They have won just one of their last seven outings, conceding a combined total of 15 goals during that period.
On the flip side, Arsenal produced an excellent performance on Wednesday – beating West Ham 2-0 to leapfrog the Hammers in the standings.
Mikel Arteta’s men are into the top four following back-to-back clean-sheet victories, having crushed Southampton 3-0 last weekend.
The Gunners have now won six of their previous nine Premier League games, achieving five shutouts along the way.
Aaron Ramsdale must be given huge credit for his recent displays. The England youngster has kept eight clean sheets in 14 Premier League matches since arriving at the club.
Martin Odegaard has upped his game of late, too, bagging three goals in his past four Premier League appearances.
Head-to-head: Leeds and Arsenal have faced each other four times since 2020, twice in the Premier League and twice in cup competitions.
During that period, the Gunners picked up three wins, while the other clash ended in a draw. Arsenal also kept three clean sheets in that time.
Team news: Leeds are currently without injured quintet Pascal Struijk, Rodrigo, Patrick Bamford, Kalvin Phillips and Liam Cooper.
Arsenal have Sead Kolasinac and Bernd Leno are sidelined through injury. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a doubt for Saturday’s game, too.
The Gunners are on the rise at the moment, while Leeds are faltering. For that reason, Arsenal should claim all three points on Saturday.
Forebet predicts that Arsenal will score over 2.5 goals on their way to seeing off Leeds.
