On Friday night, reigning Italian champions Inter visit rock-bottom Salernitana in Serie A, as the Nerazzurri look to stretch their lead at the top of the table.
Salernitana have endured a poor campaign in the Italian top-flight after winning promotion last season, following over two decades outside of Serie A.
It is fair to say that they have found life tough at the top level of the Italian game, having picked up just eight points from their opening 17 matches. Despite their poor start to the league campaign, they are still just four points from safety.
Stefano Colantuono’s team head into this difficult clash on the back of a seven-game winless run, in which they have suffered six defeats.
Last time out in Serie A, Salernitana suffered a 4-0 defeat against Fiorentina.
The defeat saw the home side concede at least two goals for the fifth game of six in Serie A.
At the other end of the pitch, they have also scored just once in seven league matches.
Inter have been in imperious form in recent months in Serie A. A 4-0 home win over Cagliari last time out means that Simone Inzaghi’s team are unbeaten in nine league matches, having recorded seven wins, including winning their last five league games.
The Nerazzurri have been the opposite of Salernitana this season, as they have been impressive at both ends of the pitch. The men from Milan have kept four straight league clean sheets, while also scoring at least two goals in seven of their last eight matches in Serie A.
Inter have also been in decent away form, as the Italian champions are unbeaten in four away games, claiming three wins and one victory.
Forebet predicts that Inter will record another victory in a low-scoring encounter.
