Sevilla will aim to extend their lead over Atletico Madrid in La Liga when the two sides meet at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium on Saturday.
Sevilla currently sit second in the table – five points ahead of fourth-place Atletico – having won each of their previous two La Liga matches.
Atletico, on the other hand, have lost each of their last two league games and are level with fifth-place Real Sociedad on 29 points.
Sevilla have lost just two of their 16 league matches this season, picking up ten wins and four draws along the way.
They have also suffered one defeat in their previous nine La Liga clashes, securing six wins and two draws in the process.
Better still, Sevilla boast the best defensive record in the Spanish top flight – having conceded only 11 goals.
When you look at the bigger picture, Sevilla have only lost six of their previous 37 encounters across all competitions.
With a nine-game unbeaten streak on home soil behind them, they will be confident of frustrating Atletico on Saturday.
As for Atletico, they head into this match on the back of a 2-0 defeat to arch-rivals Real Madrid in last weekend’s Madrid Derby.
That means they have now lost each of their previous two games, having suffered a 2-1 loss to Mallorca the weekend before.
Unfortunately, Diego Simeone’s men have failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their past 12 away outings in all competitions.
Not only do Atletico find themselves five points behind Sevilla, but they also trail first-place Real Madrid by a whopping 13 points.
It could be argued that Atletico are already out of the title race, and they are not guaranteed a top-four finish at the moment.
Head-to-head: Sevilla have lost just one of their last six La Liga meetings with Atletico, picking up one win and four draws during that period.
It is also worth noting that five of the previous six meetings between the teams have produced under 2.5 goals.
Team news: Sevilla will be without the injured quartet of Erik Lamela, Youssef En-Nesyri, Suso and Jesus Navas on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Atletico will make the trip south without injured stars Kieran Trippier, Jose Marie Gimenez, Sime Vrsaljko and Luis Suarez.
When you couple Sevilla’s recent record against Atletico with their superior position in the standings, all the signs point towards a home win on Saturday.
Forebet predicts that Sevilla will score over 1.5 goals on their way to defeating Atletico.
